In my eyes there is a clear connection between this great disparity and the dropout crisis and the rise in prison populations. The USA now has the most imprisoned in the world and plans to build the biggest facility in the world are underway for Memphis.
We should be building the biggest and most powerful educational system to engage our youth, to involve our youth, and to show them we honor their cultural capital.
